Official Launch of the Centre for Crime, Law and Justice

A 2-Day Conference Event on ‘Victims’

A 2 day conference to officially launch the Centre for Crime, Law and Justice will be held on 30th June – 1st July 2014 at the Lancaster House Hotel.

The principal aim of the Centre is to bring together overlapping research interests in the areas of criminology, criminal justice and criminal law, and to engage both nationally and internationally in research connections and collaborations.

The Centre will be working with both academic and non-academic audiences to produce empirical and theoretical multi-disciplinary scholarship and a range of publications in our specialist areas of expertise within the criminal justice domain.

At the Centre, we have particular research interests in the areas of: Criminal Justice, Courts and Sentencing; Families, Crime and Youth justice; Cybercrime, Technology and Law; Gender and Sexualities; and Comparative and International Perspectives in Criminal Justice.

The launch will take place as a conference event at the Lancaster House Hotel (http://www.classicbritishhotels.com/hotel/lancaster-house/) from 9.30am on Monday 30th June to 1pm on Tuesday 1st July 2014. The theme of the event is Victims and it will feature a number of panels on various aspects of research in this area, as well as keynote speakers. There will also be a conference drinks reception and dinner in the evening of the 30th June. Further details as well as a full programme for the event will be made available shortly.
